Automotive Window Tinting Tacoma, WA

Picture
Tacoma is one of the best places in the world to call home. Whether you live here full-time or commute up to Seattle, we all know this fact: the combination of sunshine and rain can lead to excessive sun glare.

The sun might only shine for about 160 days each year in Tacoma, but we still get to enjoy four mild seasons. When the rainy season arrives, high-quality window tint can persevere while protecting your investment.

When you’re behind the wheel dealing with all the traffic, the last thing you need to worry about is your tint!

That’s why an investment in automotive window tinting in Tacoma makes sense. Our team can help you select the perfect product to meet your daily needs.

What Are the Window Tinting Laws in Washington?

All vehicles follow the same Washington window tinting laws in 2021. There aren’t separations for trucks, windows, or vans, with the exception of the back side and rear windows for SUVs and vans. You can receive a medical exemption, and a sticker requirement is necessary to identify legal work.

Window tint manufacturers must certify the films they sell in the state.

That means the product you select for your front side windows must have a window tinting 24 rating or more. That means you must allow at least 24% of the available light into the cabin to offer a safe driving experience.

The current rule for the rear window or the backside ones is that you must use the same rating. The rear window must allow more than 24% of light into the car.

SUVs and vans can use any darkness level for their tint.

Reflective tinting must be 35% or less in its rating. Red, Black, Yellow, and Gold are not allowed. Washington also forbids mirror finishes and spray-on products.

That means you cannot use window tinting 5, 15, 20, 30, 50, or 70 under the current rules unless you have a qualified exception. You’ll want to speak with a professional installer about your needs in this area to ensure your vehicle complies.

The windshield must use a non-reflective tint on the top six inches of the windshield to be considered legal.

What Are the Advantages of Auto Window Tinting in Tacoma?

Automotive window tinting applies a thin laminate film to your vehicle’s glass. The product darkens the interior, which delivers several potential advantages to consider for your ownership or driving experience.

1. Interior Preservation
Most vehicular glass blocks little or no UV radiation. That’s why the glare can be so bad when you’re driving to work or back home in Tacoma. Tinting prevents the fading and discoloration.

2. Sight Improvement
Even if you’re only on the road for a few minutes, it only takes one moment at the wrong time to create catastrophic results with our traffic. This investment prevents that problem from developing.

3. Improved Privacy
You never know when someone might record your vehicle. They could peer into it when parked to see if they can steal something. A high-quality window film delivers enough light to stay legal while reducing how much information you reveal.

Our expert team installs most legal window tint products in less than a day here in Washington. If you’d like to experience the advantages of automotive window tints today, reach out or give us a call! We’re happy to help create a comfortable driving experience for you!
